1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using PledgeNow ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Service Description

PledgeNow is a technology platform that connects event organizers with contributors through mobile money integration. We facilitate fundraising for weddings, funerals, medical needs, political campaigns, and community projects in Uganda.

4. Payment Processing

All mobile money transactions are processed through MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money, which are regulated by Bank of Uganda. PledgeNow acts as a technology intermediary and does not hold funds. Event activation fees and platform fees are clearly disclosed before payment.

5. Fees and Charges

• Event activation fees vary based on event type and package selected
• Platform fees (if applicable) are deducted from contributions as disclosed
• Mobile money transaction fees are applied by the respective mobile money providers
• All fees are displayed before payment confirmation

6. Account Security

Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts. Payout numbers are locked after the first pledge or activation payment for security purposes. Changes require admin approval with proper verification.

7. Prohibited Activities

• Creating fraudulent or misleading events
• Using the platform for illegal activities
• Attempting to manipulate or circumvent security measures
• Sharing account credentials with unauthorized parties

8. Data Protection

PledgeNow complies with the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019. We use bank-level encryption to protect user data. For details on data handling, please review our Privacy Policy.

9. Law Enforcement Cooperation

PledgeNow cooperates with law enforcement agencies when legally required. We reserve the right to report suspicious activities to relevant authorities.

10. Limitation of Liability

PledgeNow provides the platform "as is" and is not responsible for the actions of event organizers or contributors. We are not liable for disputes between parties, misuse of funds, or mobile money service disruptions beyond our control.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activities, without prior notice.

12. Changes to Terms

PledgeNow reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or platform notifications.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes shall be resolved in Ugandan courts.
